Embroidered Pants for Men: How to Style Them
Embroidered trousers are not just for women, and they are definitely not just for festivals. Worn with the right proportions and a calm top, they are the easiest way for a man to look like he made a decision. Here is how to style them, piece by piece.
Menswear has always loved a statement piece, as long as it feels earned: a great watch, a vintage jacket, a pair of shoes with a story. An embroidered trouser plays the same role. It carries one strong idea, and everything else can stay simple.
Lines inspired by Picasso
Our men’s pants are built around that idea. On the Siam Oversize, a thick embroidery in relief, worked by hand in our Bali atelier, runs along the leg and draws faces, eyes and lips. It is inspired by architectural sketches, the world our founder Wakim Krari came from, and by the line drawings of Pablo Picasso. The result reads less like decoration and more like a drawing you wear.
StyleThe rules
Three rules for wearing embroidered pants
Volume, a quiet top and the right level of statement. Get these three right and the outfit almost styles itself.
Before the outfits, the rules. There are only three, and they cover what matters most: how much volume to wear, what to put on top, and how loud you want the line on your leg to be on any given day.
Rule 01Start with the volume
The Siam Oversize is very baggy, with an elastic waistband and pockets sized for a passport and a phone. On a man, that volume is what makes the embroidery feel relaxed rather than precious. Choose your size by height: S/M up to about 180 cm, L/XL above. The size chart has the details, and our Siam size guide helps if you are in between.
Rule 02Keep the top quiet
The trousers are the headline, so the top plays the supporting act. Three options that always work:
-
The heavyweight tee. Our heavyweight tee is cut from 340 gsm cotton jersey, with dropped shoulders, a ribbed crewneck and a slightly cropped length. The crop matters: it shows the waistband and keeps the silhouette from drowning.
-
The linen shirt. The Marius is an oversized Mao-collar shirt in linen and cotton, with Bali shell buttons and the ‘Les Énervés’ signature embroidered on the back collar.
-
The hoodie. For travel days, a Hoodie Bowie in cotton waffle keeps it soft and casual.
Rule 03Choose your level of statement
Not every day calls for the same volume of conversation. The Siam Oversize lets you choose.
StyleFive looks
Five ways to style embroidered pants
From a slow weekend to a long night out: five outfits built around the Siam Oversize, from the quietest to the loudest.
Each look below follows the three rules: one strong trouser, one calm top, and a level of statement chosen for the occasion. Start wherever you feel at ease. For more outfit ideas, women’s looks included, see how to wear baggy pants.
Look 01Weekend, simplified
Siam Oversize tone on tone in black, white heavyweight tee, clean sneakers. The easiest entry point: from a distance it is a black trouser, up close it is a drawing.
Look 02The travel uniform
Siam Oversize in Ink, black heavyweight tee, Hoodie Bowie over the shoulders. Passport in the front pocket. You will arrive looking better than the airline lounge.
Look 03Dinner, shirt on
Siam Oversize in Ivory with The Nejjar in black. The Nejjar is an oversized linen and cotton shirt embroidered with Picasso-inspired lines across the front. Pairing an embroidered shirt with embroidered trousers sounds like a lot; in black and ivory, it reads as a deliberate set.
Look 04Silk for the evening
Siam Oversize tone on tone with The Richie, an oversized shirt in sandwashed silk. Volume on the leg, fluidity on the top, and nothing else needed.
Look 05The night out
Siam Oversize Fur with the Jersey Les Énervés, a heavyweight black jersey tee with white piping and the number 07 on the back. Loud on the bottom, sporty on top.
StyleThe details
The details that make it look right
The hem, the accessories and the colour, then the hand that makes every pair.
Once the outfit is chosen, three small details decide whether it looks considered or simply loud. None of them takes more than a glance in the mirror, and all three come back to the same idea: let the trouser lead.
-
Length: let the hem fall naturally on the shoe. If it pools too much, it is a size question, not a styling one.
-
Accessories: keep them minimal. The trouser already has a strong graphic line.
-
Colour: if you are new to embroidered trousers, start dark and tone on tone, then move to contrast.
Handmade, one pair at a time
Every Siam is made to order and embroidered by hand in our atelier in Bali, which takes 7 to 14 business days before it ships with DHL Express. Because the line is drawn by hand, no two pairs are exactly alike. That is also why, sooner or later, a stranger will stop you to ask where they come from.
